Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Celsius Thermometer Plus at 4.7 against Thermometer's 3.7. Celsius Thermometer Plus also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Thermometer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Celsius Thermometer Plus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Thermometer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Celsius Thermometer Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 54 and 132 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Celsius Thermometer Plus's written reviews are positive against 49% of Thermometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Celsius Thermometer Plus ships an update every 7 months, Thermometer monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
