About

Pottr

Features

Pottr is a pottery journal for ceramic artists, hobbyists, and students. Document every piece you make — from raw clay to the final firing — with stages, technical data, photos, sketches, and reusable material libraries. Everything lives in your private iCloud. No accounts, no servers, no ads, no tracking. — STAGE TIMELINE — Track each piece through its lifecycle: To Do → Formed → Trimmed → Bisqued → Glazed → Finished. Stage dates auto-log as you advance, with editable history and auto-fill when you skip ahead. — FIRING LOGS — Record every firing with method, atmosphere, temperature or cone, and notes. Toggle between °C / °F and Orton cones with automatic conversion. — DECORATION LAYERS — Capture glazes, slips, underglazes, oxides, and stains per piece. Each layer logs surface area, application method, and coat count, and references reusable material libraries. — MATERIAL LIBRARIES — Six pre-seeded libraries — clay bodies, glazes, slips, underglazes, oxides, stains — with real-world products from Amaco, Mayco, Coyote, Spectrum, Laguna, Standard Ceramic Supply, Highwater, Scarva, Valentines, Cerama, Silica Nordic, Mason, and more. Add your own at any time. Search, favorites, and filters by manufacturer, country of origin, and firing range. — DIMENSIONS & WEIGHTS — Track height, width, depth, and weights at each stage (wet, leather hard, bisque, finished). Metric and imperial both supported, auto-detected from your device. — SHRINKAGE CALCULATOR — Calculate wet-to-fired or fired-to-wet sizes from any clay body's shrinkage percentage. Plan your forms with confidence. — SKETCHES — Draw designs with Apple Pencil or your finger. Sketch standalone or attach to a project. Multiple sketches per piece, all editable. — PHOTOS & VIDEOS — Capture or import photos and short videos per project. Configurable quality, with optional bulk recompression to free up storage. — SHARING & EXPORT — Generate a multi-page PDF report or a single image card from any project — choose what to include. Share full projects as .pottr files (a portable bundle of JSON, photos, videos, and sketches). Export material libraries as CSV. — ICLOUD SYNC — Automatic sync across iPhone and iPad via your personal iCloud. Offline-first — works with no signal and catches up when you're back online. Nothing is sent to any third party. — SEVEN LANGUAGES — Available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Catalan, and Danish. Switch the app language independently of your device language. — FREE WITH OPTIONAL TIPS — Pottr is free with no ads, no subscriptions, and no tracking. If the app earns a place in your studio, you can leave a one-time tip — purely optional, never gated. Made by a hobbyist for hobbyists.
