Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Heart Schools at 4.8 against Score Controller's 4.0. Heart Schools also leads on ratings volume (39K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). Score Controller's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 74%) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Heart Schools holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Heart Schools has 39K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Heart Schools's written reviews are positive against 100% of Score Controller's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Heart Schools ships an update every 2 months, Score Controller every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
