Body Parts vs LEST

"Body Parts - Basic" application describes basic parts of a human body. This application describes individual body parts, taking a human body as an example. The body parts are divided in to levels - upper, middle and lower. This application uses blur technology to highlight the part that is being described. This application shows body parts in languages- English/ Spanish/ French/ Russian and German. Questions at the end of the section help to revise the contents. The app also has images with audio describing the private parts of a human body for the language English.

The Letter Sound Test (LeST) tests a person’s ability to sound out single letters and letter combinations.  - Run a LeST test session in under 10 minutes. - Automated percentile and z-score calculations for graphemes. - Practice marking before you buy. - Hear correct pronunciations of all the letter-sound combinations before you buy. More about the LeST: In order to be able to sound out words, we need to know which sound a letter or letter combination corresponds to. The LeST evaluates which letter(s) a person can sound out in isolation (i.e., not in the context of a word or nonword).  The LeST is a simple reading aloud task and contains 51 graphemes (single letters and letter combinations). This test can be administered to individual students. At the end of the test, the tester gets an overview of the grapheme a reader can sound out in isolation. The tester may then decide to train the letter-sound-correspondences for the letters that the reader could not sound out correctly. This app has been developed from the LeST literacy assessment tool created by Macquarie University Centre for Reading.
