PolyAlerte is Polytechnique Montréal’s official safety app, and is the only app integrated into the campus’ safety and security systems. Polytechnique's Institutional Security has worked to develop a unique app that provides students, faculty, and staff with added safety on its campus. The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources. PolyAlerte features include: - Emergency Contacts: Contact the right services in the event of an emergency, or to address a non-urgent concern. - Friend Walk: Send your location to a friend through email or SMS via your device. Once your friend accepts the Friend Walk request, you can set your destination. Your friend is able to track your location in real time, and can keep a virtual eye on you to make sure you make it safely to your destination. - Report Suspicious Activity: Multiple options are available to report a safety/security concern directly to Polytechnique Montréal Security. - Tools: Enhance your safety with the tools provided in this easy-to-use app. - Notification History: Find this app’s previous Push Notifications (emergency alerts) using dates and times. - Share your Physical Location: Send your location to a friend by sending them a map of your location. - I’m OK! : Send your location and a message indicating that "You’re OK" to a recipient of your choice. - Maps & Plans - Campus Map: Orient yourself on the Polytechnique Montréal campus. - Building Plans: Orient yourself in campus buildings - Emergency Procedures: Campus emergency documentation that can help prepare you for disasters or emergencies. This information can be accessed even when you’re not connected to Wi-Fi or cell phone data. - Safety Notifications: Receive instant notifications and instructions from Polytechnique Montréal Institutional Security when on-campus emergencies occur.
