With Shutter-Speed you can test the shutter speeds of your analog cameras just with your iPhone. Please note that the full potential of this App is only reached if you use it in combination with the PhotoPlug. The PhotoPlug is an optical sensor which connects to the headphone-jack of your iPhone and enables you to measure the actual amount of light passing through the camera shutter. Please visit www.filmomat.eu for detailed information and for ordering the PhotoPlug. How-To: Point the camera towards a bright light source. Place the PhotoPlug closely behind the camera shutter. Start the measurement and release the shutter. The App automatically analyzes the signal and calculates the shutter speed. All measurement values can be stored into a handy table. Multiple different cameras/lenses can be stored. A correction factor is calculated, which you can use to compensate a faulty shutter speed. For example, if you measure the 1/60s and it turns out to be 1/50s, the App will tell you that the shutter-speed is 1/3 stops too long. This gives rise to a correction factor of -1, indicating that you have to close your aperture by 1/3 f-stop to get a correct exposure. Without PhotoPlug, the App will record the sound of the camera shutter and calculate the shutter speed from that. Please note that this procedure will only give useable results for speeds below 1/30sec. With the PhotoPlug, shutter speeds up to 1/500sec can be measured.

A Long Camera Exposure Calculator app is a tool designed to assist photographers in determining the optimal settings for capturing well-exposed photographs. The app typically helps photographers calculate the correct combination of three key exposure parameters: aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Here's a brief overview of the use and benefits of a Camera Exposure Calculator app: Optimal Exposure: The app helps photographers achieve the ideal exposure for their photographs by providing accurate calculations based on the available light and desired creative effects. Balancing Parameters: It helps in balancing the three main exposure settings—aperture, shutter speed, and ISO—to achieve the desired level of brightness and clarity in an image. Creative Control: Photographers can use the app to experiment with different exposure settings, allowing for creative control over the final image. This includes controlling depth of field through aperture, freezing or blurring motion with shutter speed, and managing noise levels with ISO. Efficiency: The app can streamline the process of setting up the camera by quickly providing the necessary exposure values, saving time and effort for the photographer. Learning Tool: For beginners, a Camera Exposure Calculator app can serve as an educational tool by visually demonstrating the impact of different exposure settings on the final image. It helps users understand the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Adaptability to Lighting Conditions: The app assists in adapting to various lighting conditions, ensuring well-exposed photos in situations with challenging lighting, such as low light or high contrast. Consistency: For photographers who need consistency in their work, the app helps maintain a standardized approach to exposure settings across different shoots and conditions. Bracketing Assistance: Some apps also offer bracketing features, allowing photographers to capture a series of images at different exposures for HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. Keep in mind that the specific features and capabilities of a Camera Exposure Calculator app may vary, so it's essential to explore the functionalities of the app you choose to ensure it meets your photography needs.
