The most realistic aircraft. The world at your fingertips. It’s not a game, it’s a flight simulator. ▶ "Highly recommended." — Mel Martin, Engadget ◀ ▶ Featured by Apple in "Best New Games" ◀ ▶ Over 1 million downloads! ◀ Come experience why real pilots fly X-Plane. It starts with the flight model—the same flight model used in our FAA-certified desktop simulator—that’s complete enough to model the flex in your wings & the tilt in your landing gear. Add to that our desktop-quality aircraft with multiple liveries and interactive 3-D cockpits—so detailed you can do a full startup procedure using the hundreds of buttons, knobs, & switches in the cockpit. With working gauges, flight displays, & more, these cockpits are as realistic as those in our full desktop sim. But aircraft are no good without a place to fly them. That's why each of our 5 ▸free◂ regions features detailed terrain, lifelike city buildings, & 3D airports—complete with terminal buildings, jetways, hangars, & more. Want more? Subscribe to unlock global scenery, and get access to over 37,000 airports, with more than 11,500 airports featuring 3D terminals, hangars, & more. ▶ FEATURES √ 9 ▸free◂ tutorials, teaching the basics of takeoffs & landings, traffic patterns, helicopters, & more √ Massive multiplayer with thousands of other pilots and controllers in a single shared world (Professional subscribers only; non-subscribers can get free trial flights for a limited time) √ Fully interactive cockpits on many aircraft, wired to real systems models, with working gauges, displays, buttons, & switches √ Full startup procedures supported on many aircraft (optionally start any aircraft from cold & dark) √ More than 50 systems modeled, each of which can be failed on command √ Emergency scenarios √ Combat missions ▶ AIRCRAFT The app includes 2 aircraft (plus 5 scenery regions) for free. Bring to life anything you can imagine from rockets and airplanes to cars and more. Automate them with a visual programming language. Explore 3D planets and download more from the community. Share your creations online. Complete contracts, conquer milestones, and unlock technology in the newly added Career Mode. AEROSPACE SANDBOX Juno: New Origins is a 3D aerospace sandbox where players can use customizable parts to construct and test rockets, planes, cars, or anything they can imagine in an environment with realistic physics across land, sea, air, and space. CAREER MODE + TECH TREE Take control of your own aerospace company and earn money and tech points as you progress through the game. Complete contracts to earn money, and discover a mixture of hand-crafted and procedural contracts that offer countless hours of new gameplay. Conquer milestones and explore landmarks to earn tech points and unlock new technology in the tech tree. Interactive tutorials are available to show how to build and operate rockets, cars, and airplanes. RESIZE AND RESHAPE PARTS Stretch and shape fuel tanks, wings, cargo bays, fairings, and nose cones with easy-to-use tools that help you create exactly what you want. Resize solar panels, landing gear, pistons, jet engines, etc to fit your needs. Paint your craft custom colors and tweak their reflectiveness, emissiveness, and texture styles. DESIGN ROCKET AND JET ENGINES Engines can be adjusted in a myriad of ways, such as changing the power cycle, combustion pressure, gimbal range, fuel type, and adjusting nozzle performance and visuals. You can customize an engine to be a power house for lift off, or to be a super optimized vacuum engine that maximizes Isp for interplanetary travel. The engine's performance affects its visuals in flight too as shown by the exhaust's expansion or contraction based on its interplay with the atmospheric pressure. Shock diamonds are pretty but they are a symptom of suboptimal engine performance! If you don't care about any of this, then you can just attach a pre-built engine and hit launch! PROGRAM YOUR CRAFTS Easily drag and drop code blocks to program your crafts to log telemetry, automate them, design your own MFD touch screens, etc. With Vizzy, a programming language designed specifically for Juno: New Origins, you can expand the capabilities of your crafts while learning programming, maths, physics, etc. REALISTIC ORBIT SIMULATION Orbits are realistically simulated and support time-warp so you don't have to wait several months to reach another planet. The Map View makes it easy to see your orbits and plan future burns, which you can use to set up future encounters with other planets or satellites. DOWNLOAD CRAFTS, SANDBOXES, AND MORE Download from a huge collection of user-uploaded crafts, sandboxes, and planets on SimpleRockets.com. Upload your own crafts and sandboxes and share them with the community. Rise through the ranks from a white level builder to a gold level builder and beyond.

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: X at Free against Juno's $6.99. X also leads on ratings volume (25K vs 1.2K) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Juno's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and rating (4.4 vs 4.0). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

X is free to download; Juno costs $6.99 up front. X sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Juno asks for nothing beyond the download.
Juno holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: X has 25K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of X's written reviews are positive against 78% of Juno's.
X ships an update fortnightly, Juno monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
