About this app OIKOS Bible is more than a Bible app. It provides a connected pathway that helps a believer move from their daily walk with God to making disciples, forming faith communities, and becoming a multiplier. Here are some of the main things we have been building: APPLY THE WORD Interactive and reflective Bible devotions Scripture connected to practical obedience Each experience leads toward a potential next step PRAY WITH PURPOSE Personal prayer lists Prayer connected directly to people in your Oikos Prayer reminders Tracking prayer needs and answered prayers over time BUILD YOUR OIKOS Add people from your existing relational network Pray and care for each person intentionally Identify where each person might be spiritually, guided by the Audience Map Keep track of their spiritual journey Receive suggestions for appropriate next steps GOSPEL JOURNEYS This is an area I am especially excited about. We have integrated the Audience Map, a Digital Strategies tool, into the OIKOS experience. It helps believers identify where people in their Oikos might be spiritually and consider appropriate next steps. For example, someone who is skeptical should not receive the same content or invitation as someone who is actively seeking Jesus. Depending on where someone is, the next step might be: Prayer and care A spiritual conversation Exploring a specific question An interactive Gospel Journey Reading Scripture together Joining a discovery or discipleship group Gospel Journeys are interactive microlearning experiences. They combine Scripture with elements such as short videos, stories, questions, polls, quizzes, and opportunities for conversation. The goal is to meet people where they are and help them take their next step toward Jesus. FORM FAITH COMMUNITIES When people respond, OIKOS helps believers gather them into new faith communities. The discipleship experience follows the 3/3rds pattern: LOOK BACK → LOOK UP → LOOK FORWARD The focus is on Scripture, obedience, accountability, and helping others do the same. TRAIN MULTIPLIERS We are also developing short microlearning training that equips ordinary believers to repeat the cycle: Make disciples Gather people Develop leaders Launch new faith communities Multiply THE EXPERIENCE OIKOS includes Bible access in multiple languages through YouVersion's Bible content. The app also feels familiar to people who already use social platforms, with feeds, likes, groups, sharing, interaction, and notifications. The purpose behind these interactions is different: helping people move toward Jesus, discipleship, community, and multiplication. And all you need to create, share, disciple, and interact is your phone.
