Note: SymbolSupport Lite is a free app. It can receive, read aloud, and print documents that have been created with the SymbolSupport app. SymbolSupport Lite cannot create or edit documents. It can be upgraded to the full version through the in-app Store. SymbolSupport is an iPad utility app that effortlessly adds symbols to text. As textis typed, symbols are automatically added above it. Text can also be copied from pre-existing written materials and pasted into SymbolSupport where symbols are instantly added. Documents are read with a high-quality text-to-speech voice and include word-by-word highlighting. This support helps students better understand class assignments.Symbols from Slater Literacy Support Pictures™ and Attainment’s Image Library are included. Plus, there is easy access to your camera roll and a built-in internet image search.Easy-to-use editing tools include changing auto-assigned symbols to other symbols or imported images and removing symbols from text to reduce the number of symbols on a page. SymbolSupport is designed to create symbolized text quickly and easily. Sharing these documents is equally important. Share documents via AirDrop, email, or send to any cloud storage setup on the iPad. Documents can be sent as a PDF for studentportfolios or shared with parents. Documents can also be sent as a SymbolSupport file which can be opened by SymbolSupport or SymbolSupport Lite apps.

Jellow Plus Communicator is a friendly Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system that uses icons/images to enable aid communication in adults learning to speak or with difficulty with speech and language. Jellow Plus helps non-verbal adults to communicate by constructing their own phrases/sentences and gradually learn to speak - especially those with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down’s syndrome. Jellow Plus is also an extension of Jellow Basic. It has all the icons and much more in this version. The expressive buttons, which were part of the Emotional Language Protocol (ELP) driving Jellow Basic, are available in Jellow Plus. These features make it easy for children using Jellow Basic to graduate to Jellow Plus as they grow up, making it possible to communicate better. Jellow Plus is designed especially for adults and can be used to form words, phrases and sentences frequently used in their daily lives. Jellow’s library of icons can help adults communicate using pictures along with their corresponding word labels. Jellow Plus has a library of around 5000(?) icons designed specially with feedback from users. These are organized in different categories based on parts of the speech to make it convenient to form a sentence. Some of these categories are verbs, adverbs, adjectives, nouns, expressions, etc. In addition, using the 'keyboard' feature, the user can also generate new sentences and use the app to speak them out aloud. The current version of the app allows the user to choose English language with multiple accents Indian, American, British, Australia, Nigeria along with a choice of voices. Other languages are being introduced. Jellow Plus is developed with support from the IDC School of Design at IIT Bombay, UNICEF, the Ministry and Hospitals. It is designed iteratively with regular feedback from users namely children, parents, therapists, teachers and care givers. Jellow Plus is a premium application which requires subscription to use the application.
