See the path your traffic takes across the internet, hop by hop. NetTracer runs a real traceroute from your iPhone or iPad over ICMP or UDP, in IPv4 or IPv6. Each router along the way appears on a route map with its address, name, country, network (ASN) and operator, and a colour that tells you at a glance where latency builds up. CHECK YOUR NETWORK FIRST • Real IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity tests, not just what the system reports • DNS resolver check and NAT64 / 464XLAT detection, useful on IPv6-only mobile networks • Wi-Fi or cellular, with LTE / 5G and Low Data Mode shown • While you type, see the A and AAAA records of the host and which IP version the trace will use, with a warning if it cannot work FOLLOW EVERY HOP • Fast first pass, then continuous measurement: minimum, average and maximum latency, packet loss and a latency chart for each hop • Pause and resume measurement at any time • Clear status when the destination is not reached: silent hops, filtering router or hop limit, with a hint on what to try next • Reverse DNS, country, ASN and ISP for public addresses; private and carrier-grade NAT addresses are recognised MADE FOR DAILY USE • Favorites and history • Share the result as text • Adjustable hop limit, reply timeout and early stop on silent hops • Light and dark themes, Dynamic Type, 17 languages PRIVACY No account, no tracking, no ads. Probes go straight from your device to the hosts you trace. To show location and network details, the public addresses of the hops are looked up with ip-api.com.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: NetTracer at 5.0 against Ping's 4.3. NetTracer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). Ping's advantage is ratings volume (377 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
