Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MotionMonkey at 67% against kPoint's 50%. MotionMonkey also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). kPoint's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

kPoint holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MotionMonkey has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of kPoint's written reviews are positive against 67% of MotionMonkey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

kPoint ships an update every 3 months, MotionMonkey every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on June 4, 2026 and July 29, 2026 respectively.
