Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Backgammon Games at 709 against Tavli ( Greek Backgammon )'s 75. On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Backgammon Games sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Tavli ( Greek Backgammon ) sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Backgammon Games holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Games has 709 ratings behind it against 75, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of Backgammon Games's written reviews are positive against 38% of Tavli ( Greek Backgammon )'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Backgammon Games ships an update every 3 weeks, Tavli ( Greek Backgammon ) monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
