Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Numerical³ at Free against Scientific Calculator++'s $2.99. Numerical³ also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 38 months). Scientific Calculator++'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Numerical³ is free to download; Scientific Calculator++ costs $2.99 up front. Scientific Calculator++ sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Numerical³ asks for nothing beyond the download.
Scientific Calculator++ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Numerical³ has 1.3K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Scientific Calculator++'s written reviews are positive against 75% of Numerical³'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Scientific Calculator++ ships an update every 38 months, Numerical³ every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
