Rebuild reading comprehension with dignity. Designed exclusively for adults, the Reading Rehabilitation Toolkit is a comprehensive, evidence-based suite of clinical exercises created by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Whether you are a clinician seeking a powerful therapy tool for your caseload, or a stroke survivor recovering at home, this app provides the structured practice necessary to regain reading independence. Recognized by Apple as a "What's Hot" medical app, it blends professional-grade therapy with a clean, intuitive, and distraction-free interface. 6 PROGRESSIVE CLINICAL MODULES The toolkit systematically guides users through targeted recovery stages, scaling from foundational single words to complex syntax: Word-Images Match: Read a single target word and select the matching photograph. Image-Words Match: View a photograph and identify the correct written word from a field of semantic and orthographic distractors. Phrase-Images Match: Read a descriptive phrase and choose the corresponding image. Image-Phrases Match: Analyze a picture and select the highly specific phrase that describes it. Read & Answer: Read contextual questions about a complex visual scene and deduce the correct answer. Phrase Building: Drag and drop scrambled word tiles to reconstruct grammatically correct sentences. TOTAL CLINICAL CUSTOMIZATION No two neurological recoveries are exactly the same. Tailor the therapy to meet exact cognitive profiles: Dynamic Difficulty: Manually adjust the number of distractors per screen, or toggle the automatic setting to let the app naturally scale the challenge as accuracy improves. Targeted Vocabulary: Isolate specific functional categories, including Actions, Animals, Body Parts, Clothing, Colors, Food, Numbers, Objects, and Transportation. Multilingual Support: Instantly switch the entire therapy interface and target vocabulary between English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch. DIGNIFIED, ADULT-APPROPRIATE DESIGN Features high-definition, real-world photography rather than childish illustrations. Built-in expressive reading prompts allow users to record their voice and play it back for crucial auditory self-monitoring. No distracting background audio or gamified noises—ensuring complete focus on reading, visual scanning, and comprehension. AUTOMATED DATA TRACKING & REPORTING Say goodbye to manual tally counters. The app automatically logs every interaction to track milestones and support clinical documentation: View overall accuracy across all six modules via easy-to-read, color-coded bar graphs. Access detailed historical session logs that record the specific settings, categories, and distractor counts used on any given date. Export and share professional-grade reports with families, physicians, or integrate them directly into electronic medical records. Empower the journey back to independent reading. Research suggests that performance on cognitive tasks resembling daily challenges (i.e. everyday problem-solving tasks) is a better indicator of functional cognitive abilities in individuals with cognitive deficits (e.g. Gold, 2012; Kimbler, 2013). The Problem Solve It app is designed to help individuals with cognitive impairments resulting, for example, from a stroke or early stages of dementia. The problems selected in this app are functional in nature and relate to social communication, management of finances, health, literacy, education, and personal thinking. Problem solving is an important skill in our day-to-day activities, and while performing various tasks in this app such as problem-solving based on case scenarios and sentence completion with “if,” the user will be able to identify the problem, examine the possible options, and think creatively to seek strategic approaches to problem solving. The app has six different types of tasks geared toward problem solving. The tasks pertain to everyday math problems, analysis of short scenarios, case-based solutions, sentence completion, missing links in a sequence of activities, and predictions of problems in given scenarios. Problem Solve it is engaging, with real photographs, multiple-choice options and open ended questions. Problem Solve it is easy to navigate and allows users to employ several tools to perform the following: - enter multiple users - change settings - save selected targets for the next session - select auto-scoring - select alternate counts for multiple users - enable or disable special effect sounds - audio record users’ responses - track correct and incorrect responses - view reports in table and graphical forms - e-mail results at the end of the game References: Gold, D.
