Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Hell Let Loose Maps at none against Trenches II's 6. Trenches II's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (443 vs 17). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trenches II sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Hell Let Loose Maps asks for nothing beyond the download.
Trenches II holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trenches II has 443 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Trenches II's written reviews are positive against 67% of Hell Let Loose Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Trenches II ships an update every 3 weeks, Hell Let Loose Maps every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
