Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Galaxy Genome at every 5 weeks against Solar 2's every 21 months. Galaxy Genome also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 64%) and ratings volume (116 vs 30). Solar 2's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and price ($2.99 vs $3.99). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Solar 2 costs $2.99 and Galaxy Genome $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Solar 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 30 and 116 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Solar 2's written reviews are positive against 75% of Galaxy Genome's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
