Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
PC2 DLE
This application implements a specialized take-off and landing procedure for offshore helicopter operations on helidecks. It enhances safety by minimizing exposure risks during engine failures and routine flights, while remaining simple and repeatable for pilots.
- Offshore helideck take-off/landing procedure
- Minimizes engine failure exposure
- Quantifies exposure time by weight
- Enhances safety in routine operations
- Simple and repeatable procedure
- Compliant with aviation regulations

Airbus Helicopters has defined a new take-off and landing procedure for offshore operations on/to helidecks called PC2 DLE. This procedure is currently implemented on the EC225 LP MAKILA 2A & 2A1, AS365 N3, EC155 B1 and AS332 models. For the AS332 models, download the eApp H215 Flight Perfo For the EC225 models, download the eApp H225 Flight Perfo For the AS365 N3 and EC155 B1, use this application This procedure is characterized by: − PC2 offshore classical profiles including a low rotation point (RP) which is also in effect the take-off Decision Point (TDP), − Exposure time quantification depending on take-off and landing weight. PC2 DLE provides the operator with an enhanced level of safety by using a procedure which: − Minimizes the exposure in case of one engine failure while minimizing the other risks during routine operations, all engines operating (minimizes the risk of collision with obstacles in the helideck environment, the risk of loss of visual references, and avoids risks associated with potential additional flights if payload has to be reduced), − Is simple and repeatable, − Achieves a level of risk reduction relative to deck edge strike lower than the highest certification requirements (probability of 10-9 per flight hour for a single failure having catastrophic consequences) in case of one engine failure even at high OAT, − Achieves an exposure time relative to drop down (risk of sea strike) much lower than 9 seconds in most conditions. This exposure time can be set to zero seconds with a weight reduction, − Needs minimal additional training (it uses similar procedures to those that pilots have been using for decades). The PC2 DLE procedure is compliant with the JAR-OPS 3 “PC2 Enhanced” (PC2e) as well as with the EASA Air Operations Regulation (EASA-OPS), Part CAT (Commercial Air Transport) which apply from 28 October 2012.
HeliPlates
This app provides detailed information on hospital heliports across California, including navigation coordinates, dimensions, and facility details. Users can view heliports on an interactive map or by hospital name, with aerial photos and approach paths included. Data can be saved for offline access.
- Interactive map of California hospital heliports
- Detailed heliport information
- Navigational coordinates
- Aerial photos with approach paths
- Offline data saving
- Search by region, county, or hospital name

Caltrans has developed informational dataplates, or "HeliPlates," that provide permitted approach paths and other information for all the permitted Hospital Heliports in California. We hope this information will be helpful to emergency planners, helicopter operators, and other users. The Caltrans HeliPlates app displays a map of Hospital Heliports in California that you can view by Geographic Region or County. You can select a HeliPlate for a specific Hospital Heliport using either the interactive map or by directly choosing the Hospital Name. The HeliPlates include: - Hospital Name - Hospital Heliport Geographic “Nav” Coordinates - Heliport Info and Dimensions - Hospital Facility and FAA Information - Regional Map showing the location of the heliport - Aerial Photo showing the heliport and Permitted Approach Paths Additionally, HeliPlates can be saved for offline use.

Verdict
PC2 DLE and HeliPlates are too close to call on the numbers: across 7 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
