The clearest difference is rating: Skip Search at 5.0 against ChimpKey's 3.7. Skip Search also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). ChimpKey's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (81% vs 67%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skip Search sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ChimpKey sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Skip Search holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Skip Search's written reviews are positive against 81% of ChimpKey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Skip Search ships an update fortnightly, ChimpKey every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
