Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Audition Cafe at 5.0 against WDET's 3.1. Audition Cafe also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 11 months) and review sentiment (50% vs 33%). WDET's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (15 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Audition Cafe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WDET has 15 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of WDET's written reviews are positive against 50% of Audition Cafe's.
WDET ships an update every 11 months, Audition Cafe weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
