Devices which do not contain suitable GPS hardware may work when combined with a compatible external GPS device. Performance depends on good GPS reception conditions, and may vary. Features, capabilities, and pricing may differ between platforms and are subject to change at any time. OBD functionality is optional, and would require a supported OBD-II interface device and a compatible OBD-II compliant vehicle. See website for details. Features and capabilities can vary depending on your device and other circumstances. Use of Live Streaming feature is optional and requires a premium upgrade. Services are provided as-is, and are subject to change or discontinuation at any time. This functionality does have privacy implications. Please see this app's online documentation and http://Live.RaceRender.com before enabling its use. Use of Live Streaming service requires an Internet connection, and is therefore subject to your wireless carrier and/or Internet provider's data rates. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: PGEAR at 5.0 against TrackAddict's 4.5. TrackAddict's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 50%) and ratings volume (512 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TrackAddict sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PGEAR sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

PGEAR holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TrackAddict has 512 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of TrackAddict's written reviews are positive against 50% of PGEAR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

TrackAddict ships an update every 2 months, PGEAR monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
