Verdict
Sector Alarm and IPSO both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of Sector Alarm's written reviews are positive against 25% of IPSO's. Sector Alarm also leads on ratings volume (35 vs 4). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
IPSO holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sector Alarm has 35 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Sector Alarm's written reviews are positive against 25% of IPSO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Sector Alarm ships an update fortnightly, IPSO every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
