Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: NetScan at 4.3 against TCP Console's 3.6. NetScan also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (97 vs 12). TCP Console's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (64% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TCP Console sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NetScan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
NetScan holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NetScan has 97 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of TCP Console's written reviews are positive against 50% of NetScan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
TCP Console ships an update every 7 months, NetScan every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
