OPEN A TRACE. BUILD A COMPARISON. KEEP THE SETUP. Inspect recorded OTDR data on iPhone and iPad, offline and without an account. NEW IN 5.0 • Start from an actual trace and find comparison candidates by direction, wavelength and recorded identity. The guided flow explains exclusions and asks you to confirm the physical fiber. • Save named comparison setups with selected originals, trace settings, thresholds, distance unit and overlay alignment. Reopen a setup to calculate again; missing or changed inputs are flagged rather than silently substituted. • Include saved setups in library backups. Restore independent copies with their original files. Version 5 reads older backups; new version 2 backups require version 5 or later. • Clearer import access and safer handling of overlapping imports, queued results and checksum retries. YOUR TRACE WORKBENCH Import SR-4731 .sor files from Files or the share sheet. Group them into cable/project jobs, record technician notes, and keep byte-for-byte copies on your device. Inspect stored samples with zoom, A–B cursors, two-point loss, least-squares attenuation and event-loss estimates. Review instrument event codes, supplier information and file diagnostics. Export trace and bidirectional PDF reports, cable summaries, event-table CSV, every measured sample, or the original SOR file. Compare compatible opposite-direction traces at the same wavelength. Overlay up to six traces; select exactly two of the same fiber and direction at different wavelengths for bend screening. Coverage, unmatched events and unsuitable pairs are explained. A possible bend is an indicator, not a diagnosis. Use preset or custom thresholds for splice loss, connectors, reflectance, attenuation, link loss and ORL. Calculate a component loss budget manually or prefill estimates from valid instrument loss markers. Verify inferred component counts against your design. The loss-budget calculator is also available through Shortcuts and Siri. Choose km, m, ft or mi. Adjust group index and view a helix-adjusted loss-marker span. End-of-fiber position, marker span and physical cable length are not interchangeable. WHAT TO KNOW Supports binary SR-4731 issue 1 and 2 files with one pulse width and one standard data group, up to 16 MB and one million samples. Multi-pulse files, vendor containers and text exports are unsupported. Event loss and reflectance come from the instrument. The app is an interpretation aid, not an instrument calibration or link certification. Backups accept up to 64 MB, 40 MB of original trace data, 256 traces and 256 jobs. An unreadable library index is preserved and editing is disabled; a backup cannot repair that index automatically. Keep independent copies of important originals and backups. Five clearly labeled synthetic traces let you explore the tools. No account, subscription, in-app purchase, ads or analytics. Traces and notes remain on device unless you choose to export or share them. Shared files can contain site and instrument information. The app interface and screenshots are in English. Translated store listings do not change the interface language.
