Zone 2 turns the time you spend in heart rate Zone 2 into a weekly goal you can see, close, and keep a streak on. It reads your workouts from Apple Health, adds up your minutes in each of the five heart rate zones, and shows the week as a set of rings. Set a goal for Zone 2, or for any zone, and the app tells you exactly how many minutes are left and how many of your usual workouts it will take to get there. New in 2.0: the Apple Watch app runs the workout with you. LIVE ZONE WORKOUTS ON APPLE WATCH Pick an activity, a target zone and how many minutes you want in it, then go. The watch shows your heart rate on a five-zone ladder and a countdown that only moves while you are in your target zone. Drift above it and the screen turns orange and says EASE UP. Drop below and it says PUSH. Distinct taps on the wrist tell you which way you drifted, so you never have to look. When you finish, the summary shows what the workout added to the week. FOLLOW ALONG ON IPHONE A workout running on the watch appears on your iPhone as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with the countdown, your current zone and pause and resume. Open the app for the full live screen. Everything travels directly between your devices. There is no server. WEEKLY RINGS, STREAKS AND TRENDS Home shows one ring per goal zone, the minutes left to close it, and how this week compares with last week at the same point. Close your Zone 2 goal week after week and the streak counts up. Each zone has its own page with a ten-week trend against your goal line, your average and your best week, and the workouts that contributed. BUILD WORKOUTS ON IPHONE, START THEM ON YOUR WRIST Create workouts on the phone, such as a 30-minute Zone 2 walk or a 45-minute Zone 2 indoor ride, and they appear as quick picks on the watch. AN AI COACH THAT READS YOUR WEEKS Ask the coach how to close the minutes you have left, whether to raise a goal, or where a harder session fits without losing your base. It works from your own zone data and proposes goals you can apply with one tap, but it never changes a setting on its own. The coach runs on Apple Intelligence with Private Cloud Compute. Your data is not used to train anything and is never sold. YOUR ZONES, YOUR WAY Zone 2 uses the heart rate zones you have set in the Health app when they are available, and otherwise calculates them from your age. Custom zone ranges, custom weekly goals, and a Monday or Sunday week start. FREE AND PREMIUM Tracking the current week, live workouts on the watch, the iPhone Live Activity and created workouts are free. Zone 2 Premium unlocks the AI coach, past weeks and ten-week zone trends. Zone 2 needs an Apple Watch or another heart rate source that writes to Apple Health, and reads only heart rate and workouts. SUBSCRIPTIONS Zone 2 Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered as 1 month ($0.99) or 1 year ($9.99). Payment is charged to your App Store account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
