Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: 一炷香 at every 2 weeks against Prayer Wheel's every 6 weeks. 一炷香 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Prayer Wheel's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and ratings volume (21 vs 4). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prayer Wheel sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and 一炷香 sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Prayer Wheel holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prayer Wheel has 21 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Prayer Wheel's written reviews are positive against 88% of 一炷香's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Prayer Wheel ships an update every 6 weeks, 一炷香 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
