Passage
Read full descriptionHide full description
Your child reads the words fine. Ask what happened in the story, and it's gone. Passage is comprehension practice that never runs out. Choose a reading level and a topic your child actually cares about, and Passage writes a brand-new passage on the spot — then asks five comprehension questions about it. WHY IT DOESN'T RUN OUT Most comprehension apps ship a fixed set of passages. Children finish them, or refuse to read a stock paragraph about a subject they have no interest in. Passage writes each one fresh, so there is always another, and it is always about dinosaurs, space, volcanoes, robots, or whatever they picked this time. WRITTEN AT THE RIGHT LEVEL Six reading levels, Grade 1 through Grade 6, control sentence length, vocabulary, and passage length. Every passage is checked against an established readability measure before your child sees it — and rewritten if it lands outside the target range. FIVE QUESTIONS, EVERY TIME Each passage comes with five multiple-choice comprehension questions, in the order teachers use them: • A detail stated in the passage • What a word means in context • The main idea • An inference the passage supports • Sequence, or cause and effect Your child answers by tapping. There is no typing anywhere in the app. YOU SEE WHY, NOT JUST WHAT After each session you get the score and a full review: which questions were missed, what the correct answer was, and one clear sentence explaining why. That is the part that tells you where to actually help. THE LEVEL MOVES ON ITS OWN Two strong sessions in a row and the level goes up. Two hard ones and it eases back. You can see the trend, the accuracy, and every passage they have ever finished. BUILT FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS • A parent gate protects settings, subscriptions, and reader setup • Topics come from a curated list — your child never types anything • Add a reader for each child, each at their own level • Your child's name and scores stay on this device FREE AND PREMIUM Passage is free to use with three complete passages a week. Premium removes the limit: • Unlimited passages • Unlimited readers • Full practice history • Choose the grade level for any single passage Premium is $6.99 per month or $39.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan.
