Altær is a Bible you can actually sit with. Every verse in it has been studied. Not a commentary bolted on, but a note written for the verse in front of you: what it plainly says, what it meant to the people who first heard it, where the original language carries something English cannot, and what it has been taken to mean since. 31,102 verses. No gaps. THE TEXT A careful revision of Young's Literal Translation, read in a page designed for reading — no clutter, no numbers shouting over the words. Highlight a verse, mark it, note it, hear it read aloud, or share it as an image worth looking at. EVERY VERSE, STUDIED Tap any verse for its study: the plain sense, the context, the language, the theology, and an honest word about what to do with it. Hard passages are treated as hard. Where serious readers disagree, you are told who disagrees and why, and left to think. DEVOTIONS 350 of them, written rather than assembled. A new one each day, plus 33 five-day series — walking with David, Hannah, Esther, Job, Mary and Paul, or sitting with a question: who God is, who Jesus is, who the Holy Spirit is. Any devotion can be read aloud. WORSHIP 91 songs, each paired with the verse underneath it, playing where they are named, with a way through to Apple Music. Sermons from preachers worth an hour of your attention. REST Paced breathing when your chest is tight, and fifteen guided sessions for when it is worse than that — anxiety, sleeplessness, fear, the end of a hard day. Scripture-shaped stillness, not mindfulness with a verse attached. JOURNAL Somewhere to answer what you have read, kept private on your phone. QUIET BY DESIGN No ads. No streaks shaming you. No feed. Everything works offline, and an account is optional — make one only if you want your highlights on more than one device. Altær is a rebuilt Altar: the same name, a new app underneath it.
