The clearest difference is ratings volume: Chip City at 2K against Tres Palms's 3. Chip City also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Chip City against 5.0 for Tres Palms. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chip City has 2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Chip City ships an update every 3 weeks, Tres Palms every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
