IHS Application vs Farever

The Institute for Human Services (IHS) homeless mobile application is a digital platform to share data and coordinate homeless care across community organizations via mobile devices. Community organizations may include homeless service providers, hospitals, insurance companies, government agencies, commercial businesses, and the general public. The application provides users with a tool to access and capture data about homeless clients in real-time at the point of care. Features of the IHS mobile application include: • Client profiles Homeless outreach clients can be enrolled and managed in the application using digital ID technology. • Encounter management A log of encounters with homeless clients can be recorded and accessed at the point of care in the mobile application. • Media Gallery Photos, videos, and dictated notes can be captured on the mobile device to document each encounter. • Location mapping and tracking Geolocations of encounters can be captured for tracking and locating homeless clients. • Alerts and Notifications Follow-up flags can be set, and notifications sent to appropriate parties. • Secure Database All data in the mobile application is stored centrally in a secure, encrypted database.

Farever App is designed to perform 5 functions. The first is to support homeless individuals and those who are perilously close to being homeless in Memphis, TN (other cities soon) by connecting them with essential services. Homeless clients, or any Memphian that wants to help, can use the app to find food, housing, healthcare, and other critical resources.The app can also be used for those wanting to volunteer their time and skills, and make donations. Non-profit organizations (NFPs/501(c)(3)) can update their service offerings, and communicate in real time with other NFP organizations, manage inventories, and communicate about receiving highly perishable items from farmers, grocery stores and bakeries.
