BrainBud controls the keys and scales of the Bud apps all at once. Connect BrainBud’s MIDI out to MIDI inputs of: - SnakeBud - PolyBud - MelodyBud - ShiftBud - ScaleBud 2 - In Theory - Textquencer - Binarhythmic - Auto Bass - BounceBud - MuseBud - Kebarp - FuncBud - Note to Be You can also broadcast the current key/scale to the newly connected apps with Budcast button. If you’d like to experiment, you can try the randomise button. With the AUv3 plugin, you can change the BrainBud's parameters or even automate them with AU parameters. For using the AUv3 plugin make sure you have an AUv3 host app such as AUM, Cubasis, Nanostudio, apeMatrix. BrainBud is a MIDI based app and requires other Bud apps present in order to work right. If you don't have any other Bud apps mentioned above, you can't make a use of BrainBud. BrainBud doesn't produce any kind of sound on its own.
Kaleidoscope Echo
This app processes MIDI messages to create delayed and manipulated note sequences, simulating audio delay effects with added musical control. It allows for pitch and velocity manipulation of repeats, scale-based harmonization, and real-time harmony generation.
- MIDI note delay simulation
- Pitch and velocity manipulation per repeat
- Scale-based pitch harmonization
- Real-time harmony generation
- Customizable note sequences
- Preset manager

Kaleidoscope is a MIDI processor designed specifically to simulate audio delay lines, but instead of processing audio data, it generates a series of delayed MIDI messages to achieve the same thing sonically, but with some added advantages. You can have Kaleidoscope emulate multi-tap delays and gating effects, as well as being able to manipulate the pitch and velocity of each repeat, something that is not normally done using a typical audio echo or delay effect. By default, all repeated notes are processed using the chromatic scale mode, but you are free to impose any key and scale to ensure any pitched notes are incremented or decremented in accordance with the chosen scale. Any MIDI notes that are presented to the Input MIDI port are processed by Kaleidoscope, and the modified output is then passed on to other instrument plugins. You can chain multiple instances of Kaleidoscope to create even more complex harmonies. For example, the first instance could turn one note into a simple 3-note chord, and the second instance could add octave offsets to create a lush, multi-octave outputs – all from a single note! It is also possible to perform simple, real-time harmonies using Kaleidoscope by setting the number of repeats to zero. In this mode, you can customize the pitch and velocity settings and add up to 17 additional harmonies. You can also switch to user definable mode to specify per step velocity and pitch settings to create complex sequences, complete with ties, note skip and loop mode. Features: ○ Ability to set a velocity increment or decrement per repeat. ○ Increment or decrement the pitch by a specified number of semitones per repeat. ○ Increment or decrement the pitch by a specified number of scale degrees per repeat. ○ Disable specific repeats to create syncopated rhythms or simulate a tapped delay. ○ You can turn disabled notes into ties. ○ Apply key and scale to the generated notes (126 scales supported in every key). ○ You can create your own custom scales. ○ User mode allows complete control over pitch and velocity per step. ○ Use Kaleidoscope to create instant real-time harmonies. ○ Create your own custom pitch and velocity sequences. ○ Preset Manager to create, load, save, and rename presets. ○ Drag and Drop backups and exports.
