Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: EggSort at 100% against Eldershyft's 50%. EggSort also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (14.5 vs 18.6). Eldershyft's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Eldershyft sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. EggSort asks for nothing beyond the download.
Eldershyft holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of EggSort's written reviews are positive against 50% of Eldershyft's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
EggSort ships an update every 6 weeks, Eldershyft every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
