青藏高原号称“地球第三极”和“世界屋脊”，是地球系统一个独特的地理单元。幅员广袤、生态环境复杂的青藏高原为众多植物的生长发育提供了有利的条件。 国家青藏高原植物科学数据中心（National Plant Data Center of Qinghai-Tibeten Plateau）由中国科学院昆明植物研究所标本馆负责建设和维护。本中心存储、整合、分析、挖掘和发布青藏高原地区的植物资源、环境、生态和保护等科学数据，并逐步开发在线大数据分析、模型应用等功能，实现植物科学的数据、方法、模型与服务的广泛集成，逐步成为国内完备国际领先的青藏高原植物大数据共享平台。 本中心得到了第二次青藏高原综合科学考察研究（2019QZKK0502）、中国科学院战略性先导科技专项（A类） “泛第三极环境变化与绿色丝绸之路建设（XDA20050203）”、国家基金委重大项目“中国-喜马拉雅植物区系成分的复杂性及其形成机制（31590823）”、国家重点研发计划“西南高山峡谷地区生物多样性保护与恢复技术典型脆弱生态修复与保护研究（2017YFC0505200）”等的联合资助，体现了“丝路环境”与“广目”两个先导专项数据叠加集成；同时得到中国科学院信息化专项“科学大数据工程”（XXH13505）”课题“大数据驱动的第三极环境创新示范平台”的资助，同时得到了中国科学院昆明植物研究所、中国科学院东亚植物多样性与生物地理学重点实验室的支持。 “e科考APP”是GIS、计算机科学、地理空间数据库等技术同科考有机结合的产物。空间性是“e科考APP”的核心特点，它将青藏高原根据科考需求分为多个网格尺度，通过有目的性的科考任务不断完善网格调查数据，每一条记录数据都将作为一条空间信息数据与对应网格绑定，同一网格编号数据将不断地得到完善和更新。此外，高效便捷是“e科考APP”的主要特点，“e科考APP”利用计算机技术优化科考记录流程，从而使科考更加便捷和高效。
