Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Leader at 4.4 against RM Telegram's 3.9. Leader also leads on ratings volume (66 vs 10). RM Telegram's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Leader holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Leader has 66 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Leader's written reviews are positive against 100% of RM Telegram's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
