What is "UBEK"? Why does this game look like it was created 30 years ago? It's because indeed, it was! "UBEK" was one of the first Wolfenstein-lookalikes for Commodore Amiga, published in Poland in 1995. These were remarkable times. The '90s saw the birth of 3D graphics in games — what looks clunky today was groundbreaking back then. Developers were experimenting with new ways of visualizing and interacting within three-dimensional worlds, and entirely new genres were just beginning to take shape... The 2025 recreation is built from the same, 30-year old graphics, sound, level maps and code, except for small improvements (listed below) in order to make the game more enjoyable and compatible with modern displays and game controllers. Alternatively, the less orthodox retro gaming enthusiasts can also choose the alternative, enhanced versions of some graphics and sound pieces, provided by DJREMIX!

Verdict
Humans Gone and UBEK both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of UBEK's written reviews are positive against 42% of Humans Gone's. UBEK also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). Humans Gone's advantage is ratings volume (41 vs 6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Humans Gone sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and UBEK sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Humans Gone holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Humans Gone has 41 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Humans Gone's written reviews are positive against 100% of UBEK's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Humans Gone ships an update every 2 months, UBEK monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
