RendezPoint
Read full descriptionHide full description
RendezPoint was created based on the deep conviction that if meeting in person was as cheap and easy as meeting online, we would choose to see many of our friends, family members, and important business colleagues more often. The app’s delightful user interface allows you to efficiently and discreetly share travel plans, see which friends will be traveling when and where, and makes it easy to discover and create opportunities to cross paths with the people you most want to see – no matter where in the world your travels take you. Use RendezPoint to: - Create travel events and select the people with whom you want to share your plans. - Curate your “starred contacts” list for one-click sharing of travel plans with the people you always want to keep in the loop. - Respond to the travel events that others have shared with you. - See who has responded to your travel events, and whether they are available to meet. - View the travel events others have shared with you on an interactive world map that displays who is going to be where and when. - Scroll through an organized list of all the travel events others have shared with you. - Search, sort, and filter the travel events others have shared. - Create and share travel plans even when your plans are flexible (e.g., if you’re trying to coordinate a reunion, get-together, or business meeting). - Find opportunities to schedule your own travel based on who else might be traveling to the same destination as you. - Stay and feel connected to the people you care about most, no matter how far away they might be right now.

Ruggles is for Northeastern students who want to find people they actually have something in common with. Most people you'd get on with are already on campus. You just never cross paths with them. Ruggles lets you look for them directly. HOW IT WORKS You add tags to your profile. Where you're from, down to your city and high school. Your major, your courses, your dorm, the clubs you're in and where you did co-op. The sports you play and the teams you follow. The films, shows, games, books and artists you're into. Then you search more than one tag at once. Barcelona and Soccer. Lagos and Computer Science. Interstellar and Mr Robot. You see everyone on campus who has all of them, and what else you have in common. Your top matches are the people who share your rarest tags. Two people who both picked the same high school have more to talk about than two people who both like music, so that's who comes first. GROUPS If a few of you share something specific, you can make a group around it and invite the people who have those tags. Once three people are in, the group opens. You can chat, suggest a time and place to meet, and see who's coming. Saying you can't make it is one tap, and nobody sees who said no. FEED AND ASKS The feed is posts from students, newest first. Nothing is ranked or pushed at you. Asks are for small things you need help with right now. A spotter at the gym, someone to sit with at the library, someone to walk into a club meeting with. They disappear after a couple of hours. MESSAGES Nobody can message you until you accept them. You can block or report anyone, or any post, and every report is read within 24 hours. WHO CAN JOIN You need a @northeastern.edu email to sign up, so everyone here is a student. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings at any time. Ruggles is an independent app made by a student. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Northeastern University.
