SecNote is a focused security workspace for the people who do the work. Notes, CVEs, threat-intel news, voice capture, and habit tracking — one app instead of five, built for incident responders, SOC analysts, pentesters, and anyone who lives in security. WHAT'S INSIDE Encrypted notes & notebooks Capture findings, engagement notes, and runbooks. Organize them into notebooks, tag by priority, and protect them with on-device encryption. Export any note to PDF or Markdown to hand off a finding. CVE search & watchlist Search the NIST National Vulnerability Database live, then save the vendors and products you care about — like "Fortinet" or a specific CVE. SecNote flags new matches so you catch what's relevant without the noise. Threat-intel News Hub One curated feed pulling from BleepingComputer, KrebsOnSecurity, Dark Reading, SecurityWeek, The Hacker News, and r/netsec. Skim it with your coffee instead of twelve open tabs. Voice notes & quick capture Dictate an observation in the field and SecNote transcribes it on device. Or use the Action Button, Siri, or a Shortcut to jot a note before the thought is gone — without even opening the app. Habit tracking Reading, labs, cert study, log reviews — build the daily reps that keep you sharp, with reminders, streaks, a completion chart, and a calendar. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts, no sign-up, no analytics. Your workspace lives on your device and syncs across your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud — we never see it. Lock the whole app behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. FREE & PRO The CVE database, News Hub, plus one note and one habit are always free. New users get a 7-day free trial of unlimited everything. SecNote Pro unlocks unlimited notes, notebooks, and habits. SecNote Pro is an auto-renewing monthly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Coverage Map at none against SecNote's 1. Coverage Map also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.5). SecNote's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.
