LIVE RESULTS See instant results as you type—no need to press equals. Dash Calc follows the standard order of operations: 1 + 2 × 3 = 7 Need a different order? Add parentheses: (1 + 2) × 3 = 9. One smart button handles opening and closing parentheses for you. EDIT EXPRESSIONS Tap an expression to edit it—no backspacing through long calculations. • Edit any number or operator in place • Keep long expressions readable without scrolling • Undo with a shake or the toolbar button RESULT FORMATS Show results as numbers, your region’s currency, or percentages. Calculate 1 ÷ 4 and switch to percent to see 25%. Saved calculations keep their chosen format in History. Very large and very small results automatically use scientific notation to stay readable. TIPS, TAXES & DISCOUNTS Add a tip, include tax, or take off a discount. See the amount being added or subtracted as you type. 16.85 + 20% = [+3.37] 20.22 279 − 25% = [−69.75] 209.25 History keeps the complete expression and result. POWERS & ROOTS Drag the keypad up to reveal more keys: Ans, π, 1/x, nth root, ±, √, x², and x^y. Drag down to see more History. √144 + 6 = 18 2 × 3² = 18 ³√27 = 3 Tap √ on a number you’ve already typed to take its square root without restarting the expression. Use Ans to pick up where your last calculation left off. THEMES & CUSTOMIZATION Choose from seven color themes: Classic, Cranberry, Denim, Grape, Grass, Pumpkin, or Violet. Every theme supports light and dark appearances, plus Increase Contrast. Customize the keypad too. Choose a standard calculator layout (7-8-9 on top) or a phone-style layout (1-2-3), with round or square buttons. ACCESSIBILITY Built with VoiceOver users in mind, with clear navigation, descriptive labels, and braille display support. Text size and Increase Contrast settings are respected throughout. Remember why you calculated it—not just the answer. Formula gives you an editable calculation with room for words, so you can check your thinking, change a number and use the result again. A CALCULATOR YOU CAN EDIT See the whole expression. Move the cursor, select, copy, paste or change any part without starting over. The result updates as you type. Use calculator buttons, your iPhone or iPad keyboard, or hide both to make room for the calculation. PUT WORDS NEXT TO YOUR NUMBERS Try: 3 coffees * 4 + 2 sandwiches * 7 The answer is 26. Ordinary words are comments, so you can remember what the numbers mean without putting the text in quotes. Comments appear smaller and gray; hide them when you want to focus on the math. SAVE ONCE. REUSE AND ADJUST. Give a calculation a name to save it as a formula. Reuse a price, a quantity or a whole calculation in another expression. Saved formulas appear as compact, tappable items: show the name or value, or hold to edit. Suggestions help you find existing formulas as you type. Change a saved formula and every calculation linked to it updates—including linked entries in history. Explore a different price or quantity, then use value history to restore an earlier version and recalculate the links again. KEEP YOUR REGULAR CALCULATIONS CLOSE Organize formulas into groups, choose icons, search your library and drag formulas between groups. Open a saved formula in the main editor to work on it directly; valid edits save automatically. Your draft returns when you reopen the app. FAMILIAR MATH, LESS FRICTION Use parentheses, powers, square roots and percentages. Write 2(3+4) instead of 2*(3+4). Keep seeing the current result while you add the next operation. With the Apple keyboard, you can also use its dictation feature where available. MADE FOR YOUR IPHONE AND IPAD Calculations work offline, without an account. Your draft, history and formula library are stored on your device; they do not sync between devices. Choose English, Russian, French or German in the app. Free, with no ads or in-app purchases. Questions or ideas? info@playflow.io

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Formula at none against Dash Calc's 2. Formula also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). Dash Calc's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
