Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Meow Wallpapers at every 11 days against Minimalz's every 2 months. Meow Wallpapers also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 61%). Minimalz's advantage is ratings volume (35 vs 6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Meow Wallpapers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Minimalz sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.8 for Meow Wallpapers against 3.9 for Minimalz. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minimalz has 35 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Meow Wallpapers's written reviews are positive against 61% of Minimalz's.
Meow Wallpapers ships an update every 11 days, Minimalz every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
