About

Sidetake

Features

Sidetake connects you with real mentors for real 1-on-1 conversations. Made for the confused and curious. Whether you're a student working out what comes next or a professional stuck at a plateau, Sidetake puts you in front of people who have already walked the road you're on, across 32+ domains, from design and tech to business, careers and beyond. Not sure where to start? Start with Compass. COMPASS: FIND WORK THAT FITS YOU Compass is a short test you answer by tapping. It looks at what pulls you, what you already do and how you handle real situations, and turns it into four kinds of work worth a closer look. • 18 to 24 questions, about six minutes. Nothing to type. • Told in your world: cricket, football, music, dance, gaming, reels & YouTube, food & cooking, animals & pets, or plain words. Your world changes the words, never the result. • The questions follow your answers, so each one helps tell your options apart. • It covers 154 kinds of work in 14 families, from design and software to medicine, law, aviation and public service. WHAT YOU GET • Four cards: three kinds of work your answers leaned toward, and one wildcard you may not have thought about. • Why each card came up, in your own answers. • How strong the signal is: one tick for each kind of answer that points there. • Three careers your answers fit, with the hard skills and soft skills each one asks for. Every hard skill shows whether it's commonly required, commonly used or recommended, and whether it's a beginner, intermediate or advanced skill. • The skills your three careers share, so you know what to learn once and use in all of them. • Free places to start: courses, videos and reading picked by the Sidetake team. • Job titles to search for, and how people usually get in. NO SCORES. NO LABELS. Compass never gives you a percentage, a score or a personality type. Where you live, your home language and your family's work are never used to rank anything. It shows you what your answers point to, and why, and leaves the deciding to you. FROM COMPASS TO A MENTOR Pick the card that interests you most. Your next step is a real assignment from a mentor in that field, or the closest field we have, so you can try the work before you commit to it. SHARE IT WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW YOU Send your result as a link, on WhatsApp, as a story image or as a PDF. Your first name stays off unless you turn it on, and a shared result never shows your answers or the reasons behind your cards. WHY SIDETAKE • Real people, real conversations: 1-on-1 time with mentors who do the work you're curious about. • 32+ domains, from design and tech to business and careers. • For students and working professionals alike. • Compass to find a direction, mentors to help you take it. Take Compass whenever you're unsure, and again as you grow. It's free and takes about six minutes.
