Measure sea-current speed and direction from your iPhone in minutes—built for sailors, coaches, and race teams. Map readings across the race area, review history, export CSV data, and share measurements with your team for smarter tactical decisions. WHY TIDEMEASURE Even a small current can change boat speed, laylines, mark roundings, and the favored side of the course. TideMeasure turns a simple drift test into a clear speed-and-direction result without specialized hardware. HOW IT WORKS 1. Drop a floating stick or small object into the water. 2. Tap Start as it begins to drift. 3. Retrieve it after a short measurement. 4. Tap Stop to see current speed and direction. FEATURES • Measure current speed and direction using GPS • View results in m/min, m/s, cm/s, or knots • Map measurements across the race area • Review saved measurements and history • Create or join a team and share readings • Select and export measurements as CSV • Continue measuring offline TideMeasure is designed for race preparation, coaching, training sessions, and building a clearer picture of current around the course. Location access is required during measurements and for displaying results on the map. Apple Maps data is used for mapping.
Current Coach

Current Coach turns your iPhone into a precision tidal current meter for sailors, racers, and cruisers. Drop your phone into a waterproof drifter, let it move with the water for 30–60 seconds, and get the speed and direction of the current in real time. Whether you're calling the first shift off the pin, staying out of a foul current at the layline, or understanding why the boat felt slower on port tack — Current Coach gives you the data instead of the guess. KEY FEATURES • PRECISION MEASUREMENT GPS-driven drift readings with start-to-end displacement. Every measurement shows speed in knots and m/min, direction in degrees, duration, and a confidence score combining GPS quality, recording length, and drift distance. • GPS SIGNAL SCOPE Before you hit Start, a radar-style scope shows live GPS accuracy — color-coded green/blue/amber/coral so you know whether the first ping will be good enough to anchor the reading. • HEAT-MAP VECTOR FIELD Toggle heat-map mode on the map and Current Coach interpolates a full vector field of currents across your race area from the readings you've collected. Lookback adjustable 1–24 hours. Confidence fade shows where the extrapolation is strong vs. weak. • HISTORICAL REVIEW Tap any recorded measurement to jump to the map with a ±12 hour window focused on that moment. Retrace a tack. Compare morning practice to the afternoon race. See how the current evolved. • M2X CLOUD SYNC (OPTIONAL) Sign in with an m2xsailing.com account to sync measurements to the cloud. View them in the web File Library, share with teammates, or disconnect any time. All core features work offline without signing in. • DESIGNED FOR THE HELM Dark palette, large numeric read-outs, readable under sunlight. Portrait-locked. Recording continues while the phone is pocketed. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases. Built for sailors who need the answer, not a guess.
