Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: RLM at none against Hangar's shown. RLM also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.2). Hangar's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 2) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. RLM sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hangar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for RLM against 4.9 for Hangar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hangar has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

RLM ships an update every 3 weeks, Hangar every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
