DAF Driver App vs RoadsWatch

The DAF Driver App is designed to be a useful tool for truck drivers. It provides insights in the status of the vehicle that the driver selected. For example what the fuel level is, if the battery still has power and what the location is of the vehicle. By knowing these things before the driver physically gets to the vehicle the driver can better anticipate on any possible issues, making him better prepared for a new job. The DAF Driver App also helps the driver to improve his performance by giving the driver insight in his “Eco Score”. This overall performance score is built up by various parameters (i.e. fuel consumption, harsh braking, cruise control usage and coasting) and includes the usage of any DAF vehicle that the driver has driven in the fleet. Detailed information regarding for example; fuel consumption, harsh braking and cruise control usage is available to provide a more extensive analysis of the driver’s performance. Drivers can also compete in a “Driver League” which compares the Eco Score of a certain group of drivers. Drivers can perform a “walk around check”, to comply with company and/or legal requirements to inspect the vehicle (and trailer if applicable) before or after a trip. The walk around check reports can easily be shared with a fleet manager and pictures and comments can simply be provided by the driver in the app. Other features include a messaging functionality to communicate with the fleet manager, access to the vehicle manual, how-to-videos which explain certain features of the vehicle, a DAF dealer locator and contact information in case of a breakdown (DAF International Truck Service).
