Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Remote Gamepad at 46% against Miracast's 14%. Remote Gamepad also leads on ratings volume (114 vs 25) and iOS requirement (14.1 vs 16.6). Miracast's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Remote Gamepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Miracast sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Miracast holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 114 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Remote Gamepad's written reviews are positive against 14% of Miracast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
