Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pulsify at none against Music App's 1. Pulsify also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 83%). Music App's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (14 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Music App sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Pulsify asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Music App holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Music App has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Music App's written reviews are positive against 100% of Pulsify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Music App ships an update every 9 days, Pulsify weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
