About

Ride Journal

Ride Journal β€” where your cycling data meets the story behind the ride. Your power numbers and heart rate tell you what happened on a ride. Ride Journal helps you capture everything else: the climb that nearly broke you, the cafΓ© stop halfway, the view at the top, and how it all felt by the time you rolled home. Import a ride from a .fit file or turn a cycling workout already in Apple Health into a journal entry, then bring it to life. Add your own notes, drop in photos from along the way, and attach the playlist that powered you up the hill so you can relive the whole adventure later. Now it's your journal. Add your name, your pronouns and a photo, and Ride Journal greets you by name every time you open it, with a line underneath about the ride you have already done today or a nudge towards the one you haven't. Your profile holds the whole story as well: every ride, every kilometre, every hour and every metre climbed, your longest ride, your biggest climb, and the day the journal started. And you can finally find anything in it. Search by where you rode or a word you wrote, then narrow it down β€” distance, duration, climbing, average speed, heart rate, power, cadence, training load, how the ride felt, the weather, the road, whether you took photos. Switch to Climbs and search those instead. With a subscription you can simply type what you mean. Ask for "wet rides over 50 km" and the filters are built for you, or ask a question and get a written answer above the results. Both are written on your device by Apple Intelligence. Searching and filtering are there for everyone. Your training zones come across from Apple Health. Ride Journal shows how long you spent in each heart rate and power zone on every ride, so you can see the shape of the effort instead of just the average, and your zone boundaries sit in your profile β€” whether you set them, an app set them, or Health worked them out. Your week and your month read as more than a grid. Week in Numbers and Month in Numbers put your total distance over a day-by-day chart, with your rides, moving time, climbing, average speed and heart rate, your time in daylight from Apple Health, your longest ride and the place you set off from most. Above the figures, a short written summary picks out the two or three that tell the story. Features - Search your journal by place, notes, distance, climbs and more - Search in your own words and get a written answer, with a subscription - Your heart rate and power zones from Apple Health, on every ride - A profile with your name, your photo and your all-time totals - A greeting written on your device about the ride you have or haven't done - Week and month summaries written on your device by Apple Intelligence - Ask Siri for your latest ride, your ride stats, or to find a ride - Find rides and climbs in Shortcuts and build them into your own automations - Weather recorded automatically for every outdoor ride, from Apple Weather - Automatic climb detection with categories from Cat 4 to Hors CatΓ©gorie - Steepness-shaded elevation profiles and a route map for every climb - Record road conditions β€” grip, surface quality, and how busy it was - Import rides from .fit files exported from your bike computer or cycling app - Create journal entries from cycling workouts already in Apple Health - Save ride data to Apple Health to help close your fitness rings - Sync automatically across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro via iCloud - Privacy-focused: no tracking, and your journal stays private to you Whether you're chasing personal bests or just chasing good times, Ride Journal keeps the full picture of every ride in one place.
