Take selfies as your favorite self. VCam Camera is a camera app for 3D avatars. Smile at the camera or move your hands, and your VRM avatar mirrors you in real time. Just open the app, pick a style, and shoot. YOUR AVATAR, RIGHT AWAY • Bring your own VRM (0.x and 1.0). Add it from the Files app, AirDrop, or "Open in", or pick one from VRoid Hub. • Shaders: "MToon" (VRM standard), "VCam" (recommended), or "lilToon Compatible" (holds up in strong light). Blink with both eyes, one eye, or automatically. • A single illustration works too: it's cut out automatically and follows your head. • Tracking stays on your device. No account or sign-in needed. THREE WAYS TO SHOOT • Snap: shoot like a regular camera. With the front camera, your avatar stands in for you while you're hidden from the background; with the back camera, capture the scene in high quality as the front camera tracks you. • AR Camera: place your avatar in the real world and walk around to shoot from any angle. It casts shadows and can hide behind people (and objects on LiDAR devices). • Studio: line up several avatars for a group photo, pose them by dragging their joints, and fix the pose after you shoot. STYLES, POSES, AND ACCESSORIES • Camera styles that finish the shot as you take it: CCD, Film, Instant, Dream, and Night. Plus packs: Light (backlight, neon), Y2K (early-2000s digital cameras), Cinematic, Dreamy (hearts, bubbles, stars), Season (cherry blossoms, snow), Pop (outlines, afterimages), Lens (flares, fisheye), and Retro (VHS, game consoles). Change the style after you shoot. • Poses and expressions with one tap, plus motions like waving for video. • Accessories such as glasses, caps, a black cat headband, and a penlight in your choice of color, or bring in your own as GLB files. • Lighting: set direction, brightness, warmth, and shadow, or match your background automatically. • Frames, date stamp, and your signature. • Backgrounds: the real camera, a photo or video, a solid color, or transparent, with optional blur. Adjust a photo or video's framing and tilt, or share one from Photos. PHOTO, VIDEO, AND GIF • Photos in 9:16, 3:4, 1:1, or 16:9 with self-timer, grid, and level, and video with sound, styles applied live. Trim videos after you shoot. • Short looping meme-style GIFs, with a choice of quality and loop. • Add text after you shoot, from thumbnail headlines to captions and speech bubbles, in any font and color. • Zoom, flash, focus and exposure by tap, and depth-of-field on supported devices. • Shoot with the volume buttons, Camera Control, or by showing your palm to the camera. • Jump in from Siri, Shortcuts, or Control Center. • Photos, videos, and GIFs are saved to your Photos library only when you tap Save. VCAM CAMERA PRO (optional) The free version is a complete camera. VCam Camera Pro adds: • Every camera style beyond Essentials • My Styles: build your own style, down to HSL, Color Balance, and glow colors • Every pose, motion, and accessory • Your own poses (VRMA) and accessories (GLB / FBX) • Transparent backgrounds • Studio tools: multiple avatars, Outline, Shadow, Wind, Freeze Sway, camera Angle and Motion, Save as Pose • High-resolution photos • 60 fps video • Remove the watermark or replace it with your signature Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time purchase. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: VCam Camera at 5.0 against VRoid Studio's 3.5. VCam Camera also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs monthly). VRoid Studio's advantage is ratings volume (232 vs 5) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
