Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lucent Camera at 100% against Blark's 50%. Lucent Camera also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (7 vs 2). Blark's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blark sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Lucent Camera asks for nothing beyond the download.
Blark holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Lucent Camera's written reviews are positive against 50% of Blark's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Lucent Camera ships an update every 2 months, Blark weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
