BackStoppers vs HCD Prevent Falls PBC

The BackStoppers mobile app allows supporters to learn about our mission, donate, find a fundraising event, receive notifications on announcements and more! The BackStoppers provides ongoing needed financial assistance and support to the spouses and dependent children of all police officers, firefighters and volunteer firefighters, and publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs in our coverage area who have lost their lives in the line of duty. In addition to our mission of supporting the families of fallen heroes, BackStoppers provides assistance to first responders who suffer a catastrophic injury performing their duty.

With falls being the number one cause of traumatic injuries in Palm Beach County, the Health Care District's (HCD) Prevent Falls PBC application is an interactive app developed to help reduce the incidence of injuries caused by falls. Thanks to an awarded federal grant supported by U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, the Health Care District’s Trauma Agency is partnering with community agencies in offering free Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® classes and other resources to the community to promote balance and help prevent falls.
