MD Field Mapper Pro turns metal detecting into real survey work. Using your iPhone’s LiDAR, motion sensors, and a wired audio connection to your detector, it builds a live 3D map of your coil path and the ground beneath it. See where you’ve swung, how high the coil was, and how the signal changed along each pass. The app tracks your sweep path in a local map view, with every point tagged by coil position, coil height, and audio response. A dedicated profile view shows an oscilloscope-style trace of signal versus distance, so you can spot repeatable hits and noisy zones as you move. Coil height is estimated from LiDAR geometry, helping you keep sweeps consistent across the survey area. MD Field Mapper Pro is designed for use with a wired audio connection from your detector’s control unit to the iPhone. The app focuses on clean, cable-only input for the most reliable signal capture and timing. No cloud connection is required in the field; all data is stored locally on your device until you choose to export it. When you’re done, MD Field Mapper Pro can export a complete survey package, including the SQLite database, control points, sweep lines, and LiDAR-derived point clouds. These exports can be reviewed later on your computer or shared for further analysis, mapping, or archiving.
