One list. Everyone who shops from it. Groceries keeps a single shopping list for your household, sorted into the aisles you actually walk. Add milk on the bus, and it's on your partner's phone before they get to the store. SHARED, PROPERLY Invite the people you shop with and you all see the same list. Someone checks off bread, it's checked off for everyone. Sharing runs through iCloud, so there's no account to create and no password to remember. SORTED THE WAY YOU SHOP The categories are yours: Produce, Dairy & Eggs, that odd middle aisle. Tap the sparkles and anything unfiled drops into the right one. With Hearth Plus, Auto-sort does it by itself every time you put your phone away. IN THE STORE Tap Start shopping and your list moves onto the Lock Screen and into the Dynamic Island, with the aisle you're in always in view. In a hurry? Flag the must-gets and shop just those. WRITE IT HOWEVER YOU THINK OF IT Type or dictate the whole thought — "potatoes, milk and 2 kg of apples" — and the note panel turns it into separate items. BRING AN OLD LIST IN Photograph the list off the fridge, paste one out of a message, or pick one from Reminders, and it arrives as items already in categories. ALWAYS WITHIN REACH Keep your must-gets on the Home Screen with the widget, and check them off right there. Open your list straight from Control Center, the Lock Screen, or the Action button. On iPad, it's a full app of its own. ABOUT THE AI Three features send data to our server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude to do the reading: sorting into categories, reading a note into items, and importing a list. Each one sends your items and category names, along with what you're adding: the text you wrote or spoke, the text you pasted or brought in from Reminders, or the photo you picked. It stays off until you switch it on, our server keeps only a count of how often you use it, and Anthropic doesn't train on any of it. Apart from that, your list stays on your device and in your own iCloud. HEARTH PLUS A few AI actions each month are included. Hearth Plus, a monthly or yearly subscription, lifts the monthly limit and turns on Auto-sort. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Orange Diary at none against Hearth's 2. Orange Diary also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
